2010 Training Day 2

The second training session is planned for Saturday the 22nd of May and the venue is cowm leisure, cowm quarry in Whitworth, we are planning on having two instructors on the day so we can separate into two groups one catering for beginners and the other for Novice to intermediate level riders. The numbers are limited to a maximum of twenty riders see the club website for more information at also we would like to thank cowm leisure for the use of their venue.

2010 Joan Robinson Evening Trial Round 1

Jack Butterworth Novice WinnerThe first evening trial for the Rochdale club took place last Wednesday on the 5th May, the venue as ever was back cowm quarry in Whitworth. With 60 rider in total the proceedings got under way just after 6 pm, section one took nearly all the field for marks on their first visit, the only expert who cleaned was trial winner Josh Law, on the middle route two over 40 riders where the only couple to bag a clean ride Andy Fitzsimmons and Simon Waggett who finished fourth and fifth in that class. Section seven took plenty of marks on the middle route top novice Jack Butterworth dropped 8 here with a two and a couple of three’s, top over 40 rider Kingsley Harrison dropped a pair of two’s here and cleaned on his last visit.

Charlotte Kimber Beginner WinnerIn the youth Class’s Curtis Fitzsimmons was the only rider in the A class and he went round for a respectable loss of 41 in total only 3 marks behind the Adult intermediate winner Steven Rowles who contested the same sections. In the beginner class there was a new face that took the win Charlotte Kimber who rode around for a loss of 23 marks in total beating Peter Andrews who lost 56 in total, the beginner sections where tightened up slightly due to the fact that a conducted class was also included in the trial so all the small wheel bikes rode the conducted course. The conducted course laid out and run by Neil Anderton had six sections all to themselves in a separate part on the quarry, although assistance is allowed on the conducted course the kids do take it quite seriously when the results are published. Lowest score overall went to Harvey Doolan who dropped 10 in total, next was Eamon Whittle on 17 followed by Greg Weston on 22.
