38 riders came to Walsden on Sunday for this years trial, which saw the entry tackle 10 sections with 4 laps on this rocky little bit of Yorkshire. Always a testing little place that you find  physical  to ride, as riders end up using a lot more of the clutch to negotiate those rocks that always seem to be in your line. Section one was observed by Alex Lord, a fairly steady one to try and get everyone into the swing of things, 2 was tight to be fair for the clubman, with a daunting looking deviation for the 3 lads on the expert route, 3 and 4 were flowing  for the majority, but as always the grass was greasy and had the potential to catch out the unsuspecting rider. Round the corner for 5 and 6, i (Barry) observed 6, and this did not take too many marks, with some big rocks that had to be ridden, Stephen Ellis was on 7 and from there you headed down towards the woods which had a little step near the end that caught out quite a few of the entry, 9 was the rocky beck, a tough natural section that always takes marks, once you had got your breath back, you headed back towards the car park for 10, a nice little section to end the lap on. George Morton was the outright winner of the trial, Pete McCANNA had a good ride on his Fantic, his son Adam was looking very tidy on a borrowed pre 65 bike, in the youth section, Will Sagar continues to impress, and the two Harry,s, Bayman and Cripps seem to be improving with each trial.

That sums up a good days sport, the sun was out, we had 9 observers, and everyone seemed to enjoy the event. Thanks to the landowner for the use of his land, Barry, Ian and Alan for setting out, and everyone who observed….PLEASE NOTE…. THE LANDOWNER DOES NOT ALLOW PRACTICE AT THIS VENUE….
Next Trial, is a Novice Beginner rd 3 in October, Then the Pennine Trial in November, thanks again, see you soon…
