Update 07.08.20

Due to the ongoing Covid 19 situation  we will not be running the Dale trial, we do not feel we could meet the criteria to run the event under current guidelines.

All current  2020 club memberships will be carried forward to 2021.

We will update web page regarding future events.

Corona Virus Event Cancellations.

On behalf of ACU

It is with regret that the ACU are suspending all competition and social activity until 30th April 2020, but this will be constantly reviewed. This is in response to the emerging guidance issued by HM UK Government in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.

All permits for events during this time will be cancelled and reimbursed in full to the organising club/ promoter.    As the National Governing Body would ask all ACU Members to act responsibly and follow the Government’s guidance during this difficult time. We have a responsibility and duty of care to our staff who will be working from home, so please be patient with any queries you may have.

As of writing (17th March 2020) HM Government have advised:

  • – Persons to work from home where possible
  • – People over the age of 70 to minimise social contact
  • – Emergency services will not support mass gatherings
  • – Stop non-essential travel
  • – Avoid pubs, clubs, restaurants and cinemas

This statement is supported in its entirety by AMCA

Time and Observation trial

It has been discussed casually about the feasability of running a time and observation trial at  the 400 acres venue in 2015.  One member has come up with idea of running a route in the morning for novice and beginners  and one later for expert and intermediate riders, this would allow for the riders to observe the sections. Hard route riders to observe the first session and easy route to observe second session and so on. Is this type of event something that our members are interested in? Any feedback from you will be welcome i will post on Facebook page also.

Committee News

Dear members

Your committee are pleased to report another successful year for our club and are optimistically looking forward to 2011 with anticipation and enthusiasm for several reasons:-

On the 2nd October R & DMC and Cowm Leisure will be hosting the Red Rose Solo British Championship Round at Back Cowm Quarry; this will be a fantastic event not just from the point of view of raising the image of our club but also for the sport in general; many spectators will attend who would not normally participate in our sport, this will generate interest and promote a better understanding of Trials and will no doubt be well covered by the local press.
